I've had such a hate/love relationship with this piece. I've put off finishing it (and all it needed was the gems) for a long time.
See, I had planned to do prints. My ex-partner worked at a place with a commerial printer, as long as I brought paper, I was going to be able to print all I could.
Then we split, and everytime I looked at the picture, I saw him. It symbolised the failed relationship, just like I failed at finished the drawing.
Now that it's been a few months, I thought it was time to close that chapter. So I forced myself to sit down and finish the drawing today. I'm glad I did.
Materials: Coloured pencils (Faber Castel Polychromes and Student Pencils, a little bit of Crayola and Reeves pencils as well) and Kaisercraft stick on gems.
Thanks. It sort of pushes the message further I think, since she is meant to be goddess of sun , and when the sun hits the crystals, she sparkles. I really wish i could capture it better
This is gorgeous! I am so happy to see it finally finished! This is amazing work, Amie, you put so much into this! The hair is just beautiful, and I can imagine the sparkly gems as you described them in another comment... the original must be stunning.
